SRL Julie is a very sweet, kind, and talented young lady.
That's nice on its own, but it wouldn't mean much without music to back it up.
And here's the music: a solid, intricate, original EP. It shows what technology can help create, without all the focus being purely on technology.
There is a very personal stamp on each track, and each stands on its own, yet they all combine into a unique listening experience.
Let's hear more, Julie, even if we can't pronounce your last name! Favorite track: Rabbit Babies.

about

Starting out as a singer/songwriter armed with a guitar, Julie Unpronounceable went into the field of music technology and sampling with a sense of adventure and fell in love. She began to record conversations with her friends and set up interviews purely for the purpose of spending time with them and later using them in her songs.

Julie remembers singing along to lawn mowers as a child, so it was no surprise to her that she fell so deeply in love with sound and the human voice (she's also a radio host on www.hollowearthradio.org). One also gets a sense of how in touch with emotion Julie is, as it often feels like a film soundtrack, with pockets of humor (listen to "Matthew's Stars" & "Odd Song Made of Parts" for examples).

Everything she knew she couldn't do, she did. She had never even attempted glitch, but went all in with "There is No Start". She also embraced the absence of drums/a beat in other pieces like "Rabbit Babies" and "Matthew's Stars".
